Apple's EU product sheet gives the iPhone Duo a 4,883 mAh battery and 51.5 hours of rated endurance, 30 minutes less than the iPhone 18 Pro. Its repairability index is 2.65 out of 5, against 3.14 for the 18 Pro.
Apple has published the EU product information sheet for the iPhone Duo, model A3720. It lists a 4,883 mAh battery, the first official capacity for Apple’s first foldable. MacRumors spotted the document on October 18. Apple posted it on its regulatory site on Friday, October 16.
The sheet also answers two questions buyers have asked since September: how long the battery lasts, and how hard the phone is to fix. The short answer is that the Duo lasts about as long as an iPhone 18 Pro and scores lower on repair.
What the sheet says
EU rules require every phone sold there to carry the same set of test results, so the numbers line up directly with other models. The table compares the Duo with the European iPhone 18 Pro, model A3714.
| iPhone Duo | iPhone 18 Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 4,883 mAh | 4,056 mAh |
| Rated endurance per charge | 51 h 30 min | 52 h 0 min |
| Charge cycles before wear | 1,000 or more | 1,000 or more |
| Drops without damage | 140 or more closed, 35 open | 180 or more |
| Drop class | B | B |
| Water and dust | IP68, 6 meters | IP68, 6 meters |
| Repairability class | C | C |
| Repairability index | 2.65 out of 5 | 3.14 out of 5 |
| Guaranteed software updates | 5 years | 5 years |
Duo figures come from Apple’s sheet for model A3720. iPhone 18 Pro figures come from Apple’s sheet for model A3714. MacRumors reported the same 3.14 index for the 18 Pro in September.
A 20% bigger battery that lasts 30 minutes less
The Duo’s battery is 20% larger than the European 18 Pro’s (4,883 divided by 4,056 is 1.20). Its rated endurance is 30 minutes shorter. The likely reason is the 7.6-inch inner screen, which has more area to light than the 18 Pro’s display. That’s an inference. Apple’s sheet doesn’t explain the gap.
The battery is two cells, 2,962 mAh and 1,921 mAh, according to an earlier leak that MacRumors says the sheet now confirms. The Duo is eSIM-only everywhere, so the 4,883 mAh figure should apply to every model sold.
The 51.5-hour figure is a lab number. The EU test runs a fixed mix of calls, video, browsing and standby. Expect fewer hours on a real workday with the big screen open for email and video calls.
Where the repair score drops
Both phones land in class C, the middle of the EU’s A to E scale. The Duo’s index is lower because of two parts of the score:
- Fasteners: 2.24 out of 5 on the Duo, 3.80 on the 18 Pro. The EU scores this on whether screws and clips can be reused or resupplied.
- Tools: 1.12 out of 5 on the Duo, 2.55 on the 18 Pro. A low tools score means the repair needs specialized equipment that a basic shop may not have.
Spare parts score better on the Duo: 5 out of 5, against 4 on the 18 Pro. Apple’s sheet points both phones to its Self Service Repair page for parts, manuals and prices.
Durability is the other gap. The Duo survived 140 or more drops folded shut, against 180 for the 18 Pro. Open, it survived 35.
What it means if you buy phones for your team
Battery life looks fine. A Duo should get through the same day an iPhone 18 Pro does. Anyone who lives on video calls should still keep a charger in the bag.
The cost to plan for is repair. Apple charges $999 to replace the inner screen, half the price of the phone, as our pre-order piece covered. The EU sheet adds that the fold is less forgiving when dropped open. If you’re buying Duos for executives, budget AppleCare+ and buy a case with the phone.
There’s also no hurry. New orders don’t ship until late January. Independent battery tests will be out long before then. If your team plans to pair a Duo with a second iPhone, iPhone Handoff pricing is now listed by carrier.
