Apple announced HomeView, a new Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini 2 and an LG-built line of cameras, locks and thermostats. Prices, ship dates, what needs iCloud+, and where Siri AI works.

Apple announced four home products on October 13: a smart display called HomeView, a new Apple TV 4K, a second-generation HomePod mini, and the Apple Home Collection, a line of cameras, a lock and thermostats built with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The facts below come from Apple’s four press releases unless another source is named.

Product US price In stores
HomeView, tabletop or wall $299 November 13
Apple TV 4K (A19) $299 November 13
HomePod mini 2 $149 October 30
Apple Home Collection $39.95 to $399.95 December, some items early 2027

The preview we ran on October 12 named three things to watch: the price, the countries where Siri AI works, and Thread. The answers are $299, eight English-speaking countries, and yes on Thread for every Home Collection device.

HomeView

A 7-inch display sits on a domed aluminum speaker base, joined by a stainless steel hinge that tilts the screen. Brightness runs from 500 nits down to 0.3 nits, and the chip is an A18. Tabletop colors are silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray. A wall-mounted version in silver and space gray also costs $299, plus a Schneider Home mount: $59.95 for USB-C, $79.95 for AC wiring, or $129.95 for Power over Ethernet, which arrives in early 2027.

It recognizes up to six people by face and gives each one a home screen. Messages and Calendar appear only when HomeView recognizes your face and your paired iPhone or iPad is nearby and was recently unlocked. A footnote in Apple’s release adds that personal information can stay visible after the phone drops off Wi-Fi, if other conditions are met. Shared albums and music are open to everyone, guests included.

Siri AI runs on HomeView as a beta. With an Apple Intelligence iPhone or iPad it can pull from Messages, Calendar and Apple Music. Without one, you still get general questions and conversation. Apple says some server-side features have daily usage limits, and that expanded access will cost a fee in the future.

The rest of the list: FaceTime with Center Stage, intercom, a camera view with up to nine live feeds, and a cooking mode that turns web recipes into steps with timers. Camera and microphone data run in what Apple calls Secure Exclaves, which Apple says cannot be read by apps, the user or Apple itself.

Preorders opened in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, India and New Zealand. Singapore opens October 15, and South Africa gets it November 13 through authorized resellers. HomeView is not for sale in the EU, because Siri AI is not available in iOS there.

Apple Home Collection

LG makes the cameras, the doorbell, the deadbolt, a thermostat and a sensor. Schneider Electric makes a second thermostat and a room sensor. Everything sets up from an iPhone into the Home app with no LG or Schneider account, every device uses Thread, and camera footage is end-to-end encrypted.

  • Video Doorbell Wired: $249.95. A 2.5K front camera plus a full HD bottom camera for packages.
  • Indoor Cam: $199.95. Tilts down to stop watching when the first person in the household gets home.
  • Outdoor Cam: $299.95.
  • Floodlight Cam: $399.95.
  • Smart Deadbolt Lock: $349.95. Unlocks as you walk up with an iPhone or Apple Watch, works without internet, supports Matter.
  • Thermostats: $199.95 each from LG or Schneider. Temperature sensors are $39.95.

The cameras record up to 2.5K, keep recording to built-in storage if Wi-Fi drops, and keep 10 days of event history in iCloud+ with no separate camera subscription. The 50GB plan covers one camera, 200GB covers five, and 2TB has no limit. Cameras sell in the US, Canada and the UK. The lock, thermostats and sensors are US and Canada only. Engadget’s first report listed different prices for the doorbell, lock and outdoor camera; the figures here are Apple’s.

Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2

The Apple TV 4K moves to the A19 chip, which Apple says brings up to 50% faster CPU and twice the GPU performance. It adds an AV1 decoder and three far-field microphones, so you can talk to Siri without picking up the remote. Siri AI also comes as a beta to Apple TV 4K models back to the second generation, and the Siri Remote gains Find My.

HomePod mini 2 runs on the S10 chip, comes in pink, green, blue, white and midnight, and recognizes up to six voices. It can be a Mac’s default speaker on Macs with Wi-Fi 6E or later, and four of them can work as surround speakers for the new Apple TV 4K. It ships without Siri AI. Apple says that arrives in a free software update.

The Brazil angle

Brazil is not on HomeView’s country list, and Siri AI launches in English only, in the US, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the UK.

The Apple TV 4K is the one product with a Brazilian price so far. MacMagazine reported R$ 3,600, about $719 at the Brazilian central bank’s October 13 rate of R$ 5.0096 per dollar. That is 2.4 times the $299 US price. MacMagazine also noted that preorders are open in other markets but not yet in Brazil, and Apple’s Brazilian store still sells the previous model at R$ 2,499 and R$ 2,999.

What it means if you work from home

HomeView is Apple’s first device built to sit in a shared room and show one person’s data. If you take calls at home, the face-plus-phone check is the feature to watch in reviews: your calendar and messages show up when you are standing there with your iPhone and stay hidden from kids or a roommate. Read Apple’s footnote on when that check relaxes before you put a work calendar on it.

The camera line removes a cost that usually grows. If you already pay for 200GB of iCloud+, up to five cameras get 10 days of history without a new subscription.

At a desk, the cheaper products may matter more. HomePod mini 2 at $149 can replace laptop speakers as the Mac’s default output, and the Apple TV 4K’s microphones mean a conference-room TV can take Siri requests without a remote.

In Brazil, the math is harder. At 2.4 times the US price and with Siri AI in English only, the new Apple TV 4K is a tough sell until Apple says when Portuguese support arrives.
