SpaceX folded Cursor, Grok and X Premium into one plan from $8 to $200 a month. The $8 tier runs Grok models only. Third-party models bill separately from the $30 tier up.

Cursor, the AI code editor, is now sold as one subscription with Grok and X Premium. SpaceXSI, the SpaceX AI unit formerly called SpaceXAI, announced the plans on X on October 12, according to Engadget. The post read: “We’ve unified plans across Grok, Cursor, and X Premium.” SpaceX bought Cursor in August, and Cursor announced the deal on its blog on August 14.

Cursor’s own pricing page now lists only the new tiers. It says subscriptions are sold directly through X Subscription Corp.

The plans

Monthly prices before tax, as listed on Cursor’s pricing page on October 13:

Plan Price Usage Models in Cursor
Free $0 Limited agent and chat requests Not specified
Plus $8 Base allowance Grok only
Premium $30 4x Plus Latest Grok models, plus third-party models at API list price
Super $100 15x Plus Same as Premium, with priority at peak times
Ultra $200 50x Plus Same as Super, with earliest access to new models
Teams From $30 per user 4x to 50x Plus Same as Premium

Premium and up add cloud agents, automations, code hosting and AI code reviews. Plus includes X perks such as the checkmark and fewer timeline ads, and Premium adds ad-free scrolling on most of X. Engadget’s report put Ultra at 20 times the Plus usage. Cursor’s page says 50.

Usage is one weekly pool shared across Cursor and Grok. When it runs out, you can buy a top-off or wait for the refresh. You can also set a spending cap on third-party models.

What isn’t answered yet

Cursor’s pricing page and blog don’t say what happens to people on its previous plans. The page doesn’t name the third-party models or list annual prices. Teams has no stated seat minimum.

What it means if you pay for Cursor seats

The usage included in every plan now runs on Grok. If your engineers prefer models from other labs inside Cursor, that work moves to a metered bill at API list price on top of the seat. On Plus it isn’t available at all. Before your next renewal, find out which models your team actually uses, set a cap on third-party spend, and add the new line to the budget.

On individual plans, the same pool covers Grok chat, voice and image generation. Someone who uses Grok heavily outside the editor draws down the allowance their coding agent needs.

The seller changed too. Subscriptions now come from X Subscription Corp under SpaceXAI subscription terms, and the cheaper plans include social network features. If Cursor passed a vendor or security review at your company, that review covered a different seller. Teams lists SSO, centralized billing, usage analytics, team-wide privacy settings and custom chat data retention, so the controls exist. Read the new terms before assuming the old ones carry over.
